What's The First Thing They Teach You In Flight School?

Image
Flying Aiplanes For A Living Explained It would not be wise to have the opportunity to interview a pilot and pass on it. Alex is another member of this generation who is currently training as a pilot. Planes are essentially metal birds capable of amazing things. Like air travel.   Alex's Instagram Profile How many hours of flight have you clocked so far?  I have 27 hours of flight. Does it take 10,000 hours to be good at Aviation as well? 10,00 hours of flight is a huge number even for the airline pilots. So,yes. Before we start, I wanted to know how you ended up in the Aviation industry. How does that story go? I ended up in the aviation industry with a dream. Ever since I was a child I loved the look of a airplane flying in the sky and having the freedom to do so. I originally wanted to join the military to become a fighter pilot but due to my bad eye sight they wouldn’t let me in so instead to took up the airline route.  Can you talk about how you decided to be a ...

How to Shave Your Balls…Safely

Image
Let’s not beat around the bush ADAM HURLY, GQ  . April 25, 2019 1:24 PM Take it slow! And follow every step of the official GQ Guide to Manscaping. Wait a second. Take a deep breath. Don't rush into this one. It’s important to approach Ball Care slowly, and with a bit of awareness, given how thin and precious the skin is. So follow these tips on how to do it right, and you should come out the other side with nick-free, ultra smooth balls. But first things first: Why should you shave your balls? Let’s not beat around the bush here: There aren’t a lot of reasons as to why you should shave your balls. Typically, there’s not a ton of hair growing there, as opposed to the pube pile above your penis. You should trim *that* in order to minimize sweat, fungus, and bacteria buildup, but you also need to keep enough hair there since those hairs secrete things like proteins and pheromones. (With too much hair you're at risk for some stinkiness.) Either way, it’s still mostly an aesthetic ...

Why Most Men Don't Want To Date Single Mums

They’re more expensive than prostitutes: Men confess the outrageous reasons they refuse to date single mums Image by The Guardian  Words Lauren Libbert, Via thesun.co.uk THEY'RE more expensive than prostitutes, their bodies aren't what they used to be and their children walk in during sex. These are just some of the brutally offensive reasons that a growing group of men have given for not wanting to date single mums. On a recent thread on the secret sharing app, Whisper, tried to explain the warped reasons they ruled out dating single mothers. Here, Sun Online, meets the men who are breaking a taboo by refusing to date single mums. Jonathan Cass, 52, has joined their ranks, having been single for three years, and now makes a point of swiping left on dating apps and rejecting women if there’s any mention of a little one at home. "I don’t want to be second best," he says. “There’s a real trend in current parenting that the children always have to come first and women no...

Psychologists Are Learning What Religion Has Known for Years

Image
Social scientists are researching what humans can do to improve their quality of life. Their findings echo what religious practices perfected centuries ago.  This is a syndicated article by  DAVID DESTENO via Wired.com This story is adapted from   How God Works: The Science Behind the Benefits of Religion , by David DeSteno. EVEN THOUGH I  was raised Catholic, for most of my adult life, I didn’t pay religion much heed. Like many scientists, I assumed it was built on opinion, conjecture, or even hope, and therefore irrelevant to my work. That work is running a psychology lab focused on finding ways to improve the human condition, using the tools of science to develop techniques that can help people meet the challenges life throws at them. But in the 20 years since I began this work, I’ve realized that much of what psychologists and neuroscientists are finding about how to change people’s beliefs, feelings, and behaviors—how to support them when they grieve, how to hel...

You are Not Lazy or Undisciplined. You Have Internal Resistance

You are Not Lazy or Undisciplined. You Have Internal Resistance. Why you can’t just do it, and what to do instead W hen I was writing my PhD I didn’t have bad weeks. I had bad months. The kind when each day you wake up thinking, “Today I will actually do the thing” and then you… don’t. Somehow the day ticks by and then it’s 11 pm and you still haven’t done the thing and it feels like you might as well go to bed and start over tomorrow, but already you have a sinking horrible sense that you won’t do it then either. And lo, the cycle repeats. It doesn’t have to be a PhD, of course. This why-can’t-I-just-do-it circle of hell can happen any time you’re trying to do something you care about that is big and in some way new. And once the  cycle really gets going , you can find yourself prey to self-loathing so corrosive and debilitating that I wouldn’t wish on my worst enemy. Which makes sense. Why wouldn’t you feel self-loathing when every day you violate a promise you made to you...
