Why Do White People Think Africa Is A Country?
You know what grinds my gears? Seeing another white person say they are going to Africa, while they are in fact visiting a given country. What's up with that?
Africa is a group noun, referring to a continent that houses like, what, 54 countries? So why do white people have a hard time acclimating to this fact?
The reason is simple. Let's consider Americans for instance. The USA is a continent with different states, just like Africa. Americans are used to viewing their own continent as a single country. That is the same mindset they view the rest of the world with. They think other continents are single countries, just like USA!

Owing to this, you can see why they are more than likely to claim they are going to Africa instead of just naming the specific country they are visiting or talking about.
Perhaps fate will see Africa become one large country. Which looks like the best case scenario for the inhabitants of the continent. Then white people will be able to get away with calling it a country. What do you think?
